Dang that sucks there’s gonna be no coal trains in the UK anymore! Here in the US the clock is ticking for the “roadrailer” train operations and coal trains are slowly disappearing in certain areas due to power plants converting to natural gas (I think)

Great also to see D213 Andiania in the middle, she was the loco that my Grandfather drove on his last day before retirement from LMS in the late 60's. We recently found a photo of him leaning out of the cab on his last day, Locomotive Services Ltd were kind enough to allow my son and I to visit Andania in Crewe to recreate the photo for our next generation of the family.

Hopefully see it pass through Dawlish in the near future.

45 was doing all the work even when it was on the rear in multiple mode 40, 37 just left idling great video 👍

Did this go to Crewe today? I was walking over London Road bridge Derby and barely saw them thundering through.

I was changing at Preston a few years ago, had a hour to kill and wandered down to the end of the platform where a group of men were standing with cameras. ''What's coming through?'' I enquired. One said: ''Flying Scotsman''. About 25 minutes later there was that announcement about the next train not stopping. Simultaneously about 20 guys in suits and hi-viz emerged from the offices upstairs and very quietly, Scotsman arrived, light engine, tender first and disappeared up the line. The suits returned to their meeting and the railway returned to normal. I wandered through to the next platform where mothers tended their children and travellers watched their phones. None of them had any idea what they'd just missed. 😀

It's like classic cars: 45's, 40's, 37's, Capri, XJS, MGB....

Not personally a fan of peaks (they arent a fan of me either they always break after ive been on them) but that peak sounds like its got the 47s engine in it rather than what it was given from factory!
